staccato

To play the sound briefly. Generally it is often indicated by a symbol like the figure below.

It is also often abbreviated as stacc. Usually it is said to be short in Japanese, but as an image it seems to be light, to bounce, and so on. Specifically, it is common to play as shown in the following figure.

The horizontal axis of blue figure is time and the vertical axis is volume. Tenuto, the end of the sound decays shorter than Marukato. Even if the tempo changes, it is basically the same. The length of sound is different between Staccato alone and Slur and Tenuto are used at the same time. It depends on the player 's sense as to how long to play.
