About the Brass Cruise

Yokohama Port Festival the Brass Cruise is a music event to be held in Minatomirai hall in every June. In this concert, Yokohama Wind Symphony, public offering band for celebration performance, invite a guest conductor and in 2016 NAKANISHI Eisuke acted.

About Music

The Brass Cruise commits the guest conductor to arrange Yokohama City Song for the band every year. It has been inherited by YABE Masao (March April May, the 41st All-Japan Band Competition, etc.), ABE Yuichi (March "Ramesses II", the 43rd All-Japan Band Competition, etc.) and others. In 2016, NAKANISHI Eisuke (The Farthest Castle, the 62nd All-Japan Band Competition) arranged this historical song as heroic and glamorous music. It was highly acclaimed in the premiere and made many band director plan to play.

About Instrumentation

In instrumentation, it fits any band. Most instruments support each other, this is effective especially for smaller band. Also in larger band you can use special instruments like as contrabass clarinet or bass saxophone (of course you can play without them). It includes "Ishi-no-Maki Bell", a bell suffered from aftermath of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, and this is for the stage effect. The following is the table of instrumentation.
